Brevard County, Florida Man Donovan Winter Arrested for Felony Murder in Infant Death
BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Donovan Winter, a 27-year-old resident of Volusia County, was arrested in Brevard County on charges related to the death of his two-month-old son.
According to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Winter was taken into custody on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, by members of the U.S. Marshals Service and the GAMEOVER Task Force after an arrest warrant was issued by Judge Steve Henderson. Authorities say the investigation began on June 1, 2021, when deputies responded to a residence in Merritt Island, where the infant was found deceased.
An autopsy conducted by the Brevard County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the child died from multiple blunt-impact head injuries. Investigators later identified Winter, the child’s father, as the person responsible for the fatal injuries.
Winter was transported to the Brevard County Jail and is currently being held without bond on charges of felony murder and aggravated child abuse.
