Fatal Cincinnati East Westwood house fire death of Dossie Washington
Dossie Washington, 64, of Cincinnati, was identified by the Hamilton County coroner as the man who died in a house fire on Harkness Street Monday night.
Police responded to the home after being alerted to a man with an outstanding warrant who refused to exit the residence. When SWAT units were called due to concerns that Washington was armed, a fire ignited inside the house.
Firefighters controlled the blaze and discovered Washington’s body inside. The fire caused approximately $80,000 in damage and destroyed the house.
Court records revealed Washington had a warrant for public indecency and resisting arrest, linked to an incident in mid-May where he exposed himself in the front yard of the same property, visible to passersby including local students.
The investigation into the fire remains ongoing.
