East Kilbride, Scotland Man Ewan Methven Arrested for Brutal Murder of Partner
EAST KILBRIDE, SCOTLAND — Ewan Methven, a 27-year-old resident of East Kilbride, has admitted to the brutal murder of his partner, 21-year-old Phoenix Spencer-Horn, at her home in South Lanarkshire.
According to Police Scotland, Methven was taken into custody at their shared flat on Glen Lee on November 18, 2024. Authorities say the incident took place late on November 16, when Methven attacked Spencer-Horn, strangled her, and stabbed her approximately 20 times with multiple knives. He then attempted to dismember her body in an effort to cover up the crime.
Methven delayed calling emergency services for two days, during which time he used Spencer-Horn’s phone to send misleading messages to her family and searched extensively for pornography online, prosecutors revealed in court.
Methven was transported to a detention facility and has pleaded guilty to charges of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice. He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 14.
