Fatal Coffee County jail death of Diquan Lakeith Holloway

An Enterprise resident, Diquan Lakeith Holloway, was discovered lifeless in his jail cell at the Coffee County Jail on Saturday morning, according to authorities.

 

Coffee County Sheriff Scott Byrd confirmed that Holloway was found unresponsive on his bed. Emergency life-saving measures were immediately initiated by jail medical staff and corrections officers.

 

Enterprise Rescue teams arrived promptly and took over resuscitation efforts. Despite their attempts, Holloway could not be revived and was officially declared deceased.

 

Sheriff Byrd has asked the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency to carry out a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death, following standard procedures.

 

In collaboration with the district attorney and the county coroner, Byrd has also requested an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

 

Holloway had been incarcerated since December 19, 2024, facing multiple charges including drug trafficking, two counts of distributing controlled substances, being a fugitive from justice, and failing to appear in court.

 

Authorities have stated that the case remains under investigation, and no additional details have been released at this time.
