Gonzalo Villafana Alvarado dies in fatal Quincy car crash

Fatal Quincy car crash death of Gonzalo Villafana Alvarado

A man lost his life in a high-speed collision early Saturday morning on State Route 281 just south of Quincy, Washington.

The Washington State Patrol identified the deceased as 36-year-old Gonzalo Villafana Alvarado of Quincy. He was driving a silver 2007 Toyota Camry northbound when the car crashed into the rear of a truck near milepost 9 at around 3:15 a.m.

The force of the collision proved deadly, and Villafana Alvarado was declared dead at the scene. Authorities have not confirmed whether he was wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Investigators noted the Camry was moving at a high speed, but the precise cause of the crash remains under review. It has not yet been determined if impairment was a factor.

The driver of the truck, identified as 58-year-old Randey Boen, also from Quincy, was unhurt and had been wearing a seatbelt. His vehicle was able to leave the scene under its own power.

 

The Grant County Coroner’s Office has informed the victim’s family.
