Hobartville Man Bryan Steven Johnson Arrested in Sydney for Murder of Leanne Akrap

SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES — Bryan Steven Johnson, a 47-year-old resident of Hobartville, was arrested in Sydney in connection with the murder of Leanne Akrap.

 

According to New South Wales Police, Johnson was taken into custody on Monday evening at a residence on Powell Street in Hobartville. Authorities say the incident came to light on Sunday, June 15, 2025, when a passerby discovered Akrap’s body lying in bushland off Irwin Street in Werrington, alongside clothing and rubbish. Investigators believe the body had been there for some time before being found.

 

Johnson was transported to Penrith Local Court and has been charged with murder. He was refused bail and remains in custody as the investigation continues.
