Fatal Lincoln car crash death of Jeremy Charginghawk
A man who was struck and killed by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Lincoln has been identified as 44-year-old Jeremy Charginghawk, a local resident.
Emergency personnel from both Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to the incident shortly after 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of 27th and Theresa streets.
Initial findings indicate that Charginghawk was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of a business located nearby. Authorities confirmed that he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
When officers arrived, the car involved had already left, but investigators were able to locate the vehicle later and make contact with the individual behind the wheel.
According to the crash report, the driver stated he had been making a slow right-hand turn within the parking lot when he hit the victim, who he believed had been lying on the ground before the collision.
As of Monday morning, no charges or citations had been issued in connection with the incident.
