Fatal Victorville car crash death of Maria Alvarado

Maria Alvarado, aged 25, was killed in a tragic head-on collision on Sunday, Father’s Day, when an SUV reportedly driven by a DUI suspect veered into her lane at the intersection of Green Tree Boulevard and Hesperia Road in Victorville.

The deadly crash took place around 4:53 p.m. on June 15, 2025, as stated in a report from the Victor Valley News Group. Authorities say Ricardo Dawkins, 44, was behind the wheel of a westbound Cadillac Escalade that suddenly crossed the center line, crashing into Alvarado’s eastbound Acura sedan.

Emergency teams from the Victorville Fire Department arrived shortly after the collision and discovered Alvarado with critical injuries. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Dawkins, the suspected impaired driver, was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators suspect Dawkins was under the influence at the time of the crash. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Victorville Police Department or submit tips anonymously through the We-Tip hotline.
