Sue Tarleton dies in fatal Pleasant Grove shooting

Fatal Pleasant Grove shooting death of Sue Tarleton

A 73-year-old woman, Sue Tarleton, was fatally shot late last week in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas, according to police reports released Monday.

 

Authorities discovered Tarleton’s body around 10:15 a.m. Friday on East Shore Circle, near Lake June Road. Investigators later confirmed her identity and indicated that she and the suspect knew each other.

 

Dallas police announced the arrest of 74-year-old Owen Smith in connection with Tarleton’s death. He has been charged with murder and is currently being held in the Dallas County jail with bond set at $1 million.

 

No further details about the events leading to the shooting or the nature of their relationship have been disclosed at this time. The case remains under investigation.
