Fatal Belton, S.C. car crash death of Woodrow Campbell Jr.

Authorities have released the name of the man who died after his truck collided with a tree in Belton on Tuesday morning.

 

Emergency responders were alerted just after 11:10 a.m. when a report came in about a truck that had veered off Trail Road and struck a tree near the intersection with Craft Road.

 

The driver, 84-year-old Woodrow Campbell Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:51 a.m., according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.

 

The coroner confirmed that Campbell died from multiple traumatic injuries sustained in the crash. His death has been classified as accidental.

 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office are continuing their joint investigation into the incident.
