Authorities confirmed that the incident took place in Millsboro, where a physical altercation between Steele and her son escalated to a deadly level.

Police responded to the scene after receiving a report of the domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, they found Deborah Steele deceased as a result of injuries sustained during the encounter.

Investigators have since determined that her son was responsible for her death during the course of the altercation.
