Dexter Lamont Scott Jr. dies in fatal Anderson County car crash

Fatal Anderson County car crash death of Dexter Lamont Scott Jr.

Dexter Lamont Scott Jr., a 30-year-old man, lost his life Wednesday morning following a single-vehicle collision in Anderson County, South Carolina.

Authorities say the crash took place on Highway 81 North near Bowen Road, where Scott’s car veered off the road and struck a tree in the front yard of a nearby home. Emergency responders found him unresponsive at the scene.

He was transported to AnMed, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity and death shortly after 8:30 a.m.

Investigators from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office are examining the circumstances surrounding the crash as the investigation remains ongoing.
