Fatal Cleveland shooting death of Patrick Carner
Patrick Carner, a 34-year-old man from Maple Heights, lost his life Tuesday afternoon following a shooting incident in the parking lot of Angie’s Soul Cafe located in Cleveland’s Fairfax neighborhood.
According to Cleveland police, officers were dispatched to the scene on Carnegie Avenue shortly after 2:30 p.m. in response to a call reporting a possible robbery. Upon arrival, they discovered Carner suffering from gunshot wounds and immediately began providing emergency care until paramedics could take over.
Emergency medical services transported Carner to University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead due to the severity of his injuries.
In a public statement, representatives of Angie’s Soul Cafe explained that Carner appeared at the back entrance of the restaurant after being wounded. Two staff members attempted to assist him, but he did not survive. The restaurant emphasized its commitment to the safety of patrons and employees and expressed sympathy for those affected by the tragedy.
Police have not yet released further details, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
