Taniya Delouth, 49, was fatally shot late Monday night during a violent incident in South Los Angeles that also claimed the life of a man, according to local authorities.

Officers with the LAPD’s Newton Division were dispatched around 11 p.m. to Central Avenue and 50th Street following reports of gunfire.

Police determined that two suspects pulled up in a vehicle and opened fire on the man and woman, striking both victims multiple times before fleeing westbound on 50th Street.

When emergency responders arrived, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics pronounced Taniya Delouth dead at the scene.

The male victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

As of now, authorities have not released a description of the suspects, and the investigation remains ongoing.
