Thomas Oliver Sellman III dies in fatal Anne Arundel County car crash

Fatal Anne Arundel County car crash death of Thomas Oliver Sellman III

Thomas Oliver Sellman III, a 30-year-old from Churchton, Maryland, was one of two men who died in a deadly car wreck Tuesday night in Anne Arundel County.

 

According to Maryland State Police, the crash occurred around 9:03 p.m. on June 17 along the northbound side of Interstate 97, just past Farm Road. Sellman was driving a Dodge Durango when the SUV veered off the highway for reasons yet to be determined.

 

After leaving the roadway, the vehicle ran off the right shoulder, entered a wooded area, and collided with two trees before flipping over. Sellman and his passenger, 29-year-old Marcus Eric James Jr. of Shady Side, Maryland, were both pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews.

 

Troopers from the Maryland State Police Annapolis Barrack responded to the incident, with support from Anne Arundel County Police and the State Highway Administration, which handled traffic diversions for about four hours.

 

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is continuing the investigation into what led to the tragic accident.
