Fatal Fayette County crash death of Jonathan Thompson

Jonathan Thompson, 49, of Lexington, was identified by the Fayette County Coroner as the victim in a single-vehicle collision that occurred early Tuesday morning on Boston Road. The crash took place around 2:40 a.m. on June 17 near the 3600 block of Boston Road, close to Dylan Place and Man o’ War Boulevard.

Authorities reported that Thompson lost control of the car he was driving, resulting in the vehicle crashing and causing fatal injuries. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. The coroner confirmed that blunt force trauma was the cause of death.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and officials are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances leading to the crash. Due to the investigation and cleanup, a portion of Boston Road was closed for several hours.
