Fatal Sacramento shooting death of Paul Miguel Quiroz

Paul Miguel Quiroz, a 26-year-old man from Sacramento, died three days after being shot on June 1 near the 2800 block of Broadway. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death followed critical injuries sustained in the shooting.

The incident also involved another man in his 40s who suffered non-life-threatening wounds and sought hospital treatment on the day of the shooting. Both victims were linked to a Toyota Camry involved in the event, while witnesses in a Nissan Armada remained unharmed.

Witnesses described hearing four or five gunshots shortly after noon, prompting police to close 28th Street at Broadway for several hours during the investigation. A local business owner, Kam Long, said she closed her shop that day due to safety concerns after hearing the gunfire.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact Sacramento police or Crime Stoppers anonymously. The investigation is ongoing.
