Robert Jones dies in fatal Westbrook car crash

Fatal Westbrook car crash death of Robert Jones

Robert Jones, a 63-year-old man from Chester, was killed early Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle head-on collision in Westbrook, Connecticut, according to state police.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:27 a.m. on Essex Road, also known as Route 153, near the intersection with Pettipaug Road. Authorities reported that a Nissan Altima, driven by Jones and traveling northbound, collided directly with a southbound Jeep Wagoneer.

Emergency responders transported Jones to Middlesex Health Shoreline Medical Center, where he was later declared deceased as a result of his injuries.

The operator of the Jeep Wagoneer sustained only minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for evaluation.
