Sara Burack, a 40-year-old Southampton resident and real estate broker, died after being struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident early Thursday morning in Hampton Bays.

According to police, officers received a 911 call around 2:45 a.m. reporting a woman lying in the roadway on Montauk Highway near Villa Paul Restaurant. When they arrived, officers found Burack unconscious with severe injuries believed to have been caused by a vehicle impact.

She was transported by Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Burack was previously affiliated with Nest Seekers International and had appeared on the Netflix series Million Dollar Beach House.

Authorities stated that the driver involved fled the scene, and no witnesses or vehicle descriptions have been publicly disclosed at this time.

Detectives from the Southampton Town Police Department and accident reconstruction experts from the New York State Police are handling the investigation. They are urging anyone with information about the crash to contact them at 631-728-3400 or 631-702-2230.
