Fatal Bakersfield car crash death of Carissa Marie Sileo
Authorities in Kern County have identified Carissa Marie Sileo, 34, of Bakersfield, as the cyclist who died after being hit by a car on Roberts Lane late Sunday night.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened around 11:38 p.m. on June 15, 2025, near Plymouth Avenue.
Investigators say a 21-year-old man was behind the wheel of a 2013 Chevrolet Impala traveling west on Roberts Lane when his vehicle collided with Sileo, who was riding a bicycle in the same lane.
Sileo had reportedly entered the roadway outside of a designated crosswalk and directly into the car’s path.
CHP noted that the area had no street lighting and that Sileo’s bicycle lacked both lights and reflective gear.
She died at the scene as a result of the collision. The driver stayed at the location and did not suffer any injuries.
