Fatal Orange County car crash death of Lindsey Delgado
Two years after a devastating street racing incident claimed the life of Lindsey Delgado, authorities in Orange County have arrested two men believed to be responsible for the deadly crash.
Lindsey, who was a passenger during the high-speed race, died from her injuries days after the collision, which took place on J. Lawson Boulevard near South Boggy Creek Road. Orange County deputies announced that 22-year-old Jose Urban and 21-year-old Diego Abreu have been taken into custody in connection with the fatal crash.
Her mother, Mayra Rodriguez, shared the emotional toll the loss has had on her family, describing Lindsey as a kind and thoughtful young woman with dreams of studying astrology.
“She was a sweet, sweet girl,” Rodriguez said. “It’s still heartbreaking because my family misses her a lot.”
According to investigators, the drivers were traveling at dangerously high speeds, nearly double the posted limit. Rodriguez noted that one of the men was supposed to be driving 40 miles per hour but instead reached 80.
The case had remained open until developments earlier this year led to charges. Both suspects have entered not guilty pleas, and each was given a bond set at $25,000.
While the arrests bring some relief, Lindsey’s mother acknowledged that the pain of losing her daughter remains.
