Fatal St. Louis shooting death of Michal Maxon
Authorities have identified 22-year-old Michal Maxon of Castle Point as the victim killed in a recent shooting that also injured an 8-year-old girl and another man in St. Louis.
The shooting occurred on June 8 in the 8300 block of North Broadway, near the parking lot of Elite Supermarket & Grill. Officers arrived to find Maxon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A young girl was also hit in the wrist by a bullet, and another man, aged 25, was found a block away with a gunshot wound to his leg. Both were taken to a hospital and reported to be in stable condition.
Investigators believe the victims were sitting inside a car when an altercation escalated into gunfire. Surveillance video reportedly captured the suspect, 25-year-old Tavon Jackson, opening fire on the car and then dragging Maxon from the vehicle to shoot him again.
According to a probable cause statement, Jackson admitted to firing at the car and to fatally shooting Maxon. He now faces charges including first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and multiple counts of armed criminal action.
Jackson is currently being held without bond as court proceedings move forward.
