Ryan Tietsort dies in fatal Spokane Valley shooting

Fatal Spokane Valley shooting death of Ryan Tietsort

Ryan Tietsort, 43, was shot and killed by law enforcement during a deadly encounter in Spokane Valley on June 15 following a multi-state violent crime spree.

According to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy K. Felix, a former U.S. Air Force member who joined the department in November 2023, was identified as the deputy who fatally shot Tietsort.

Authorities stated that Tietsort had been fleeing from police when he began shooting from his vehicle. The suspect had previously killed a person in Idaho as part of the same crime spree.

The shooting incident led to a significant law enforcement presence and temporarily closed down the area near Pines and Trent.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting remains active and ongoing.
