Connie Jones, a 55-year-old woman from Richmond, has died following a serious car accident on Indiana’s Interstate 70 early Sunday morning. The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene around 1 a.m. after reports of the collision. According to preliminary reports, Jones’ vehicle veered off the road, overturned with great force, and came to rest on its roof on the southbound side of the highway. Paramedics pronounced Jones dead at the scene. The impact reportedly ejected the driver from her vehicle.
A 56-year-old man from Richmond was also in the car at the time of the crash. He suffered minor injuries, primarily related to the sudden stop and impact, and is expected to make a full recovery. He later provided information to law enforcement, stating Jones had driven him to Indianapolis to collect him from his place of work before they began their journey home. Tragically, the vehicle’s path took an unexpected turn to the right, leading to the devastating collision.
