The Pierce County Medical Examiner has officially identified the victims of a two-vehicle collision in Gig Harbor as David and Ethel Dodge, both of Olalla. The accident occurred on June 6, resulting in the deaths of the couple.
David Dodge, 65, and Ethel Dodge, 67, were pronounced dead at the scene after their SUV was struck from behind by a pickup truck traveling at an extremely high speed. According to Gig Harbor Police Chief Kelly Busey, the pickup driver, a 50-year-old man, and his 15-year-old passenger were taken to local hospitals but survived the incident.
The Dodge family has shared an emotional tribute to the couple, describing them as “beloved parents, grandparents, and daily pillars of strength.” A GoFundMe page has been established to support their daughter and extended family during this difficult time.
“This was an accident,” stated a medical examiner’s report. The Dodge couple’s lives were centered around their family, with their daughter Samantha Hughes emphasizing their role in raising generations.
