Fatal Henrico County car crash death of Tameecha Chambliss

Tameecha F. Chambliss, 27, of Richmond lost her life early Sunday morning in a violent two-vehicle crash on Interstate 64 westbound in Henrico County, Virginia.

Virginia State Police reported that the incident occurred around 4:54 a.m. near mile marker 196, just beyond the Airport Drive exit. Chambliss was driving a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 at a high rate of speed when it struck the right rear side of a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox.

The impact caused the Mercedes to flip and land on its roof, coming to a stop in the center lane. Chambliss, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.

Her passenger, 27-year-old Alexandria Telisha Gamble, also from Richmond, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Equinox, identified as 46-year-old Miguel Andres Munive Rangel of Doswell, was also hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities confirmed the crash is still under investigation. Westbound lanes of I-64 were closed for an extended period as the Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team worked on the scene.
