A man has died following a shooting in North Omaha early Sunday morning. The incident occurred near 30th Street and Sorensen Parkway just after 4 a.m. According to Omaha Police Department officials at the scene, three people were injured in the shooting, with one individual later succumbing to their injuries at Nebraska Medicine.

Further information released later indicated that the deceased was identified as 28-year-old Mandrell Swinney Jr. A 35-year-old woman was transported to Nebraska Medicine with injuries described as non-life threatening. The condition of the third victim, who arrived at the hospital on their own, remains unknown.

Omaha Police Lieutenant Lee Bell provided initial details, stating, “Right now, there’s not much to go on. At this moment in time, we’re still investigating, so all we know is that we have three victims, and quite a large scene.” The ongoing investigation into the fatal shooting in North Omaha is being handled by OPD’s Homicide Unit.
