Fatal New Market car crash death of Maria Silos

A Huntsville man faces murder charges following an incident where he allegedly struck his wife with a vehicle after an argument occurred.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office reported the fatal collision happened on Sunday at approximately 9:50 p.m. in the 700 block of Davis Road in New Market.

Responding deputies found a woman with severe injuries consistent with being hit by a car. Identified as 31-year-old Maria Silos, the victim was taken to Huntsville Hospital but later succumbed to her injuries.

According to investigators, Silos was initially driving with her husband, Garland Rockwood. The couple began arguing, and they pulled over. It is believed that Rockwood then drove the car and collided with Silos.
