Fatal Bryant shooting death of Michael Jennings
Michael Jennings, 63, was among three relatives who were found dead inside a Bryant home on Sunday morning in what authorities are calling a triple homicide.
Law enforcement responded to a residence on Lena Drive around 7:30 a.m., where they discovered Michael Jennings, his wife Monica Jennings, 55, and his stepdaughter or daughter, 32-year-old Kayla Mitchell, all deceased from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Michael Jennings was identified as either the father or stepfather of 34-year-old Jarrod Mitchell, who has since been arrested in connection with the shootings.
Later that same day, around 3:30 p.m., officers from the Bryant Police Department and Saline County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Jarrod Mitchell as a person of interest. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond as the investigation continues.
The death of Michael Jennings, along with two close family members, has left the community reeling as authorities work to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
