The Lehigh County Coroner’s Office has officially identified the young boy who passed away following a distressing incident in Allentown’s Jordan Creek. The victim, Christopher Roldan-Solis, a 14-year-old, was pronounced dead at 6:18 a.m. on Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township.
An autopsy was conducted earlier in the week and concluded that his death resulted from complications related to drowning, with the manner of death ruled accidental by Coroner Daniel A. Buglio. The investigation is ongoing.
The incident began around 1:15 p.m. on June 11 when Christopher jumped into the creek near Sumner Avenue in Jordan Park. Shortly after, he struggled in the water and failed to resurface. Bystanders immediately alerted emergency services and attempted to rescue him.
Several individuals entered the creek to assist, and after a concerted effort, Christopher was pulled from the water. Emergency personnel administered CPR before transporting him to the hospital for further care. Despite the efforts, he did not survive.
The Allentown Police Department’s Special Victims Unit, along with the Coroner’s Office, is examining the circumstances surrounding this tragic event. Authorities are reviewing the details to determine if any additional factors contributed to the outcome.
