Fatal Oceana County car crash death of Gary Archambault
Oceana County authorities reported a tragic incident on Sunday afternoon, June 22, 2025. A 66-year-old man from Muskegon, identified as Gary Archambault, lost his life in a single-vehicle collision along US-31 near Park Road in Grant Township.
Emergency responders arrived promptly at approximately 3:15 p.m. They discovered Archambault ejected from his vehicle, a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, which had suffered multiple roll overs. Medical examiners pronounced him deceased at the scene.
Another individual occupying the vehicle was female. She sustained injuries during the impact. Local news sources reported she was transported to Trinity Lakeshore Hospital in Shelby. According to preliminary information, her condition was described as stable.
A thorough preliminary investigation by Oceana County deputies examined the crash site. Evidence suggested the driver’s seatbelt was secured behind him, but it was determined he had not worn it correctly during the accident. Investigators found the Jeep initially veered off the roadway. It subsequently crossed into the opposing lane divider strip where it executed several overturns.
The police department indicated that the crash remains under full investigation. However, initial findings suggested no involvement of drugs or alcohol contributed to the incident.
First responders acknowledged the assistance of Life Ambulance, the Grant Fire Department, and the Rothbury Police Department during the incident management.
