Kristen Advanis dies in fatal Long Beach car crash
Fatal Long Beach car crash death of Kristen Advanis
A 56-year-old man, identified as Kristen Advanis, met his demise in a severe motor vehicle collision on Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach, Orange County, authorities confirmed on Monday. The incident occurred Saturday night around 9:30 p.m.
Initial reports from the Long Beach Fire Department indicated a dark sedan, traveling eastbound on Ocean Boulevard, collided with the pedestrian in a designated crosswalk at the intersection with Falcon Avenue. Following the initial impact, the driver of the sedan vacated the scene promptly. Subsequent investigation by the Long Beach Police Department revealed that a second dark sedan, also heading eastbound on Ocean Boulevard, struck the victim while he was already incapacitated and then fled the scene as well.
The Long Beach Police Department confirmed that a 59-year-old resident of Tustin was operating the first vehicle involved in the collision. He immediately ceased his journey upon realizing the accident, according to police statements. The second vehicle’s driver remains unidentified pending further investigation.
The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office officially identified the deceased on Monday. Preliminary findings suggest that factors including high speed and potential driver distraction might be contributing elements to the vehicular incident, particularly concerning the two vehicles that departed the scene.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene on Ocean Boulevard, but unfortunately, medical professionals were unable to save Mr. Advanis, as he was pronounced deceased at the location. His body has been made available for memorial services and arrangements.
The Long Beach Police Department is actively pursuing leads in the case and is soliciting public assistance. Any individual possessing relevant information regarding the two vehicles involved or the incident itself is strongly encouraged to contact the LBPD at 562-570-7355.
