Charles Huff dies in fatal Corpus Christi, Texas crash

Fatal Corpus Christi, Texas crash death of Charles Huff
Following an extensive search effort involving the U.S. Coast Guard, the Corpus Christi Police Department, park rangers, and Beach Patrol, authorities have confirmed that the lifeless body of Charles Huff, the missing fisherman, has been located near Fish Pass.

Huff, who was 66 years old, went missing on Sunday afternoon. His disappearance began when his truck became immobilized during a fishing excursion at the Fish Pass Jetties along Highway 361. Despite repeated attempts to contact him via phone or text message, there were no responses.

The search operation proved complex as Huff’s relatives located his vehicle but were unable to find the fisherman himself, prompting the broader search involving multiple agencies. The Coast Guard deployed aircraft for aerial surveillance, while ground teams canvassed the area, including K9 units and drone technology.

Upon locating the vehicle, search teams discovered Huff’s body in nearby brush. CCPD officials, including Officer Braden Tackett, were present at the scene. While awaiting a determination of the cause of death from the medical examiner, officials expressed condolences to the Huff family.

“It appeared to be an unfortunate accident at this time,” said Tackett regarding the discovery.

The body was identified during the search conducted after Huff’s truck was located. This tragic incident has ended a suspenseful period for Huff’s family and the search teams who worked tirelessly over the weekend.

Further details regarding the cause of death are pending the medical examiner’s official findings.
