Fatal Asheville, North Carolina car crash death of Claude Alie-Alexander McPherson Jr.
ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – The Asheville Police Department has officially identified the individual killed in a crash that took place in early June. Officials confirm 62-year-old Claude Alie-Alexander McPherson Jr. was struck and killed by a vehicle on June 10 at the intersection of Patton Avenue and North Louisiana Avenue. According to police reports, McPherson was crossing the road outside the designated crosswalk when he was hit by a Nissan Sentra traveling westbound in the far right lane. McPherson was pronounced deceased at the scene. Following discussions with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, authorities have announced that no criminal charges will be filed against the driver of the Sentra. The ongoing crash investigation is being handled by the Asheville Police Department.
