Kathleen E. Hodge, a 60-year-old resident of Darlington, has been identified by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office as the individual who perished following a collision on I-77 near mile marker 46 in Winnsboro. The coroner’s office confirmed that Ms. Hodge was operating a motorcycle at the time of the incident.
According to the authorities, the motorcycle lost control and subsequently collided with an eighteen-wheeler. Ms. Hodge did not survive the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene. The collision is currently being investigated jointly by the Fairfield County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
