The Chula Vista Police Department confirmed on Tuesday that Simon Robledo, a 28-year-old from Chula Vista, was pronounced dead following a collision with a marked police vehicle last Friday night. The fatal incident occurred at the intersection of Olympic Parkway and Windingwalk Street around 6:15 p.m.
According to the department’s report, an officer in a patrol car was making a left turn onto southbound Windingwalk Street when the motorcycle traveling eastbound on Olympic Parkway struck the side of the police vehicle.
The CVPD identified the deceased individual as Simon Robledo. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The ongoing investigation into the accident is still in its preliminary stages, with the chief expressing condolences to the victim’s family.

The fatal crash happened on Friday towards the close of the evening at the specific location of the Olympic Parkway and Windingwalk Street intersection.
Preliminary findings from the Chula Vista Police Department indicate that an officer, operating a marked patrol vehicle, was executing a left turn onto the southbound section of Windingwalk Street. At that moment, a motorcycle proceeding eastbound along Olympic Parkway collided with the side of the police cruiser.
On Tuesday, the Chula Vista Police Department officially identified the motorcyclist as Simon Robledo, a resident of Chula Vista who was 28 years old. He suffered critical injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to a hospital. Regrettably, his condition deteriorated, leading to his death while under medical care.
