SIMON ROBLEDO, 28, from Chula Vista, died following a crash with a Chula Vista Police vehicle. The accident happened Friday evening at the intersection of Olympic Parkway and Windingwalk Street. A motorcycle traveling eastbound on Olympic Parkway collided with a police car that was turning left onto southbound Windingwalk Street.
According to the Chula Vista Police Department, the officer was in a marked vehicle when the collision occurred. Mr. Robledo sustained serious injuries at the scene and was transported to a hospital. Despite medical efforts, he later passed away. The Chula Vista Police Department issued a statement expressing condolences to Mr. Robledo’s family, acknowledging the ongoing investigation but emphasizing the department’s concern for the loss of life.
