Austin Police Department investigators are now calling on the public for help to identify the individual responsible for a deadly collision. The incident, which took place on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at about 11:44 p.m., was located on South Congress Avenue, in the 4100 block.
A motor vehicle was involved alongside a cyclist. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered the vehicle had departed. The cyclist, who was later confirmed to be Bobby Wayne Carr, was taken to a nearby hospital. He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead several days after arriving at the hospital.
The suspect vehicle is described as a 2024 Black Ford Bronco, available in either two or four door configurations. This vehicle is notably missing the front right side fender and exhibits possible damage to the front right side. Features include blacked-out wheels and a white license plate situated on the lower left rear, with a mounted spare tire also noted.
