A man in his late 40s has died as a result of injuries sustained in a shooting incident reported on Wednesday evening in the Chicago North Lawndale area, local authorities confirmed. Police were called to the scene shortly after 8 p.m. regarding a shooting.
According to the responding law enforcement, officers encountered an individual on a sidewalk in the 1200 block of South Springfield Avenue. He was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital where, despite medical intervention, he was pronounced deceased. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has been notified, and an autopsy is pending.
