Fatal Litchfield car crash death of Terri Mae Cullen
Terri Mae Cullen, 53, was killed Wednesday afternoon when the 2016 Dodge Dart she was driving veered off Route 254 in Litchfield, Connecticut, and collided with a utility pole for reasons still undetermined.
The collision happened at approximately 4:06 p.m. near the intersection with Knife Shop Road, according to Connecticut State Police. First responders from the Northfield Fire Department worked to free Cullen from the wreckage, but she later succumbed to her injuries.
In the aftermath of the crash, authorities requested that Eversource shut off power in the surrounding area as a safety measure. This precaution led to a temporary outage affecting around 1,127 customers, beginning at 4:10 p.m. and lasting until service was restored at about 5:30 p.m.
Connecticut State Police are conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash, including what caused Cullen’s vehicle to leave the roadway.
