The Montgomery County Police Department reported that the incident began when the SUV’s driver attempted a left turn from Veirs Mill Road onto Newport Mill Road. During this maneuver, the vehicle collided with a motorcyclist traveling eastbound on Veirs Mill Road. The impact ejected the rider from their motorcycle.
Emergency responders transported the injured motorcyclist to a hospital, where medical staff confirmed his death later that week. According to official records, the deceased is identified as 36-year-old Vincent James Rizzo, a resident of Silver Spring. Both the driver of the SUV and a passenger inside the vehicle received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
