PHOENIX – Glendale authorities are investigating the death of a woman struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in the early afternoon of June 2, 2024.
The incident occurred near the intersection of Bell Road and Van Buren Street. Emergency dispatchers received multiple reports around 10:30 a.m. about pedestrian activity in the area.
Victims identified as Samantha Nicole Clark, 24, were transported to a local medical facility but succumbed to their injuries, officials confirmed. Glendale Police responded swiftly to the scene.
Clark, who authorities said was a resident of Scottsdale, was reportedly crossing the street when she was hit by an unknown vehicle. The striking car fled the scene, prompting police to activate the city’s surveillance cameras in the vicinity.
Investigators have not released details about the vehicle or its driver, citing the ongoing investigation. Sgt. Michael Torres, a police spokesperson, mentioned that preliminary reviews suggest a single vehicle was involved.
Clark was engaged to Hunter, a close friend, whose emotional statement was shared on social media, bringing attention to the tragedy. He described her as a vibrant and caring individual deeply loved by many.
