Fatal Edison, New Jersey pedestrian collision death of Tuan Phan

Edison authorities confirmed on Wednesday that Tuan Phan, a local resident, has passed away following a serious incident on Route 27. Another individual, Hahn Huynh, was transported to a medical facility and is currently receiving treatment.

According to official reports, Tuan Phan voluntarily stopped his vehicle along the northbound lanes of Route 27 at approximately 10:15 AM to address an issue with a potted plant that had accidentally fallen from his car onto the southbound side of the road. Both Phan and his passenger, Hahn Huynh, exited the vehicle near the roadside. Tragically, they encountered a tragic accident caused by another driver traveling southbound on the busy thoroughfare.

The responsible driver, identified as Grygorii Rozhkov, was cited by law enforcement. Police indicated that Rozhkov was ascending a hill on Route 27 and was unable to spot the pedestrians on the road. He attempted to veer his vehicle away from the collision path but ultimately could not prevent the incident.

The Edison Police Department’s specialized team has taken over the investigation for this critical event. As of now, no formal charges have been filed against Grygorii Rozhkov.
