Fatal Jackson County car crash death of Celeste Bellard
An investigation into the death of Celeste Bellard is ongoing following the incident on Gautier-Vancleave Road. Jackson County Sheriff John Ledbetter confirmed that Bellard, 45, of Gautier, jumped from a vehicle being driven by Adam Cross, believed to be her boyfriend. The event occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, just north of Pine Grove Road.
Emergency responders arrived to find Bellard deceased on the roadway. Sheriff Ledbetter relayed that Cross reported being under the influence of alcohol while driving with Bellard. They had stopped at a residence, consumed alcohol, and subsequently argued. According to Cross, Bellard exited the moving vehicle during this altercation.
Adam Cross, who is 47 years old, faces charges of driving under the influence. Sheriff’s records indicate his bond has been set at $5,000.
