Fatal Aurora shooting death of Ernesto Jae Sandoval
Aurora authorities apprehended two individuals, one being a minor, regarding the fatal shooting that occurred last month near Park Lane Elementary School. This incident resulted in one fatality and one injury.
The shooting incident transpired on the evening of May 21st in the 3100 block of Ursula Street, situated close to Park Lane Elementary School, as confirmed by the local police department.
At the crime scene, responding officers discovered two individuals who had been shot; an 18-year-old man from Wheat Ridge and a 17-year-old male from Denver. The man from Wheat Ridge was transported to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries, whereas the younger boy is anticipated to make a full recovery.
The identity of the deceased Wheat Ridge resident was confirmed as Ernesto Jae Sandoval by the Adams County Coroner’s Office, informed the police.
Last Tuesday, the department’s fugitive unit apprehended the initial suspect, a 17-year-old male from Aurora who is not being named due to his age. He was taken into custody on charges of second-degree murder and aggravated robbery, classified as felonies, a police spokesperson stated on Friday.
On the same day, the second suspect was taken into custody by law enforcement. This individual was identified as 19-year-old Yoel Uriel Romero from Aurora. He was arrested on identical charges as the first suspect, announced the police.
The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will formally charge both suspects in the near future.
