Law enforcement conducted an investigation following a tragic incident involving a fatality at a prominent cereal manufacturing facility in Perry County, Missouri. On Thursday afternoon, authorities were alerted to the situation at the Gilster-Mary Lee Cereal Plant.

Perry County’s official medical examiner has officially identified the individual who lost his life as Nicolas Lopez Gomez, a 38-year-old man originally from Guatemala. It is noted that he was employed under a different name, Edward Avila.
In response to this workplace fatality, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has initiated its own formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding this event.
