Seth Wingo dies in fatal Coweta County car crash
Fatal Coweta County car crash death of Seth Wingo
Early Wednesday, a 19-year-old motorcyclist named Seth Wingo met his demise in a fatal collision with a dump truck on a rural stretch of road in Coweta County, according to initial reports from the Georgia State Patrol in Newnan.
The accident happened around 1:07 p.m. on June 25th on Tope Road, near the intersection with Orr Road. Wingo, from Newnan, was riding a 2019 Suzuki ER400 motorcycle eastward when he entered a bend to the right. Simultaneously, a dump truck heading north on the same road approached a curve to the left. Troopers stated Wingo crossed the centerline during his maneuver and struck the front of the dump truck head-on. He was rushed to Newnan Piedmont Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed his death.
The truck driver, Devron Trott, a 29-year-old from Peachtree City, was at the wheel. A check of the commercial vehicle at the scene indicated Trott’s medical card for the truck had expired, nullifying his commercial driver’s license. He was given a citation for this violation, and no additional legal actions were pursued.
The Georgia State Patrol is continuing to investigate the incident to determine all contributing factors.
