Austin authorities have confirmed the identity of the person killed in a Saturday morning motor vehicle collision. The deceased is identified as Eddy Pena Delarosa, a 27-year-old resident.
According to preliminary reports from local law enforcement, the incident occurred shortly before dawn. Emergency responders arrived at the scene located in the 7000 block of Crystalbrook Drive, situated within Austin’s LBJ district, at approximately 5:30 a.m.
Officials stated that medical professionals pronounced Mr. Delarosa deceased at the crash site. As this matter is still under active examination by Austin police divisions, the contributing factors leading to the collision remain undisclosed at this time.
The current investigation is the 47th traffic fatality recorded in the Austin city limits this year. Since the beginning of 2025, these incidents have sadly resulted in the loss of 51 lives. Comparatively, on the same date last year, 34 fatal auto accidents were documented in the area, unfortunately leading to 35 fatalities.
