Rana Nofal Soluri dies in fatal Bowie throwing
Fatal Bowie throwing death of Rana Nofal Soluri
A Fort Worth man, Dennis William Day, has been arrested on murder charges following his confession to killing Rana Nofal Soluri and disposing of her body near Bowie, according to police reports. Soluri’s disappearance was reported by a coworker after a three-month absence without communication.
The investigation was initiated by Fort Worth Police after receiving a missing person report concerning Rana Nofal Soluri, 47. Her colleague informed authorities that the last contact occurred on March 19th, abruptly ending mid-conversation. Soluri had previously taken a leave of absence for a minor procedure but failed to return to her position as an American Airlines flight attendant by the March 31st deadline.
The coworker confirmed that Soluri had been residing with Dennis William Day for approximately one year and was the last known contact before her disappearance. A March 19th video message allegedly showed Soluri’s firearm on her bed, with a male voice audible in the background during their conversation.
Investigators determined Soluri had not traveled by air since October 24th, 2024, when she flew from Phoenix to Dallas/Fort Worth. American Airlines confirmed they were unable to contact her after that date, which was unusual given her five-year tenure with the airline.
The timeline of the investigation began in May when police responded to Day’s residence regarding vehicle retrieval. Day reported seeing Soluri approximately two months prior to her disappearance. Further police contact on June 10th revealed Day claimed no recent communication with Soluri despite frequent calls and texts over three months.
The investigation concluded Soluri was last definitively contacted on March 21st based on her cell phone activity. Her vehicle, purchased weeks before her disappearance, remained stationary and unused. The discovery of surveillance footage showing suspicious activity at her last known location prompted the homicide unit’s involvement.
During Day’s June 23rd interrogation, he denied knowledge of Soluri’s disappearance. Subsequent review of his property revealed surveillance footage from March 21st showing him transporting a lifeless form to his backyard. Following this evidence, Day confessed to strangling Soluri during an altercation while recording the incident. He admitted strangling her until death, moving her body to a storage bin, and transporting it near Bowie where he threw it from a bridge.
Day also confessed to destroying other evidence, including her firearm, by disposing of it in a storm drain. He directed authorities to multiple potential bridge locations but her body remains missing. Day was arrested, booked into the Fort Worth Jail, and faces a murder charge with a $200,000 bond.
A representative from Soluri’s social circle expressed profound shock and grief, describing her as a generous and fun-loving individual known for her willingness to help others. The Envoy Air company issued a statement acknowledging Soluri as a valued employee who would be remembered by colleagues and family.
The ongoing investigation continues to examine all available evidence in this tragic case.
