TONY GARCIA DIES IN PHOENIX SHOOTING
Phoenix Police have confirmed the death of Tony Garcia, a 46-year-old man, following a shooting incident that occurred early Monday morning.
The fatal shooting happened in the northern part of Phoenix, near the intersection of 23rd Avenue and Northern Avenue, authorities reported. The incident occurred approximately at 1:30 a.m. on June 23.
According to police, officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Garcia injured from a gunshot wound on the ground. Medical personnel transported him to a hospital, where he later passed away.
Phoenix Police identified the suspect as Garcia’s girlfriend. She was detained at the scene without incident.
Sergeant Phil Krynsky of the Phoenix Police Department stated that detectives arrived at the scene, processed the evidence, and interviewed the suspect. Through their investigation, they determined that Garcia and the suspect had engaged in a physical altercation prior to the shooting. Following this determination and consultation with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, the suspect was released pending the final outcome of the ongoing investigation.
